Catamaran Classes: ASA 114 Cruising Catamaran and Bareboat Charter Prep

Learn how to sail one of the world’s most popular type of cruising sailboat.

lagoon sailFor your next charter or ownership experience, explore catamarans.  They make great boats for chartering and vacationing because of the ample deck space and stability.  They’re more spacious than monohulls of the same size, and for non-sailors, catamarans don’t heel over with the wind as a monohull does. The non-sailors will appreciate this. There’s plenty of deck space an cockpit room to relax and sunbathe. Launching paddleboards from the transom is a breeze.  And there’s the trampoline area between the two hulls at the bow area for extra room and fun.

However, sailing a catamaran is different from a monohull, and requires its own set of skills and knowledge. They handle differently under power and sail–so it’s crucial to be prepared with catamaran sailing lessons.

We offer two catamaran classes, the ASA 114 Cruising Catamaran Certification and our Catamaran Bareboat Charter Prep.

Our catamaran sailing lessons and cruising courses are all taught on Lagoon catamarans and are based on the ASA Cruising Catamaran Certification Programs. They’re designed for sailors looking to become competent and confident on larger cruising catamarans. You’ll practice all the skills you need for chartering on cat on San Francisco Bay as well as in popular chartering locations worldwide, from Tahiti to Turkey, Australia to the Caribbean.

The wide world of catamaran sailing is waiting for you, and with either the ASA Cruising Catamaran Certification or our Bareboat Charter Prep, you’ll be cruising with confidence and in style! So take a class, and when you’re anchored and relaxing on deck watching a tropical sunset, you’ll be glad you did.
