Alcyone is powered with an Oceanvolt hybrid system. She is propelled by an electric sail drive in silence while producing zero emissions. A 48-volt bank of lithium batteries powers the drive. Batteries are recharged via solar panels, shore power, the onboard diesel generator, or sail drive regeneration when sailing over 5 knots.
