Learn to sail in less time and with greater competence through private instruction. The breakthroughs come because you work at your own pace and can move through lessons and skill tests faster and with more competency with singular focus.
Our instructors will move through the curriculum with a focus on your areas of interest and where you need the most coaching. Lessons are taught on an Oceanis 38.1.
Old School
The typical weekend sailing course has you sitting in a classroom for 50% of the time. The other 50% you’re on the water, taking what you just heard and applying it so you can pass on Sunday. You’re on board with people at different levels of skill and confidence, and teaching is always directed at the lowest level learner.
The business model of all modern sailing schools is to get dues paying members and get on their lesson mill. Lessons modules are designed to take you on a slow track of courses and extra workshops to get you to a basic level of confidence and competency. In addition to monthly dues, you pay a significant rental fee for a boat to finally go sailing by yourself. If you add this all up, you are paying a hefty sum to gain your basic competency.
New School – Why we only do private sailing lessons
We developed our private sailing lesson programs so in the end, you spend half the money and time to become confident and competent. You don’t have to join a sailing school club so there are no monthly fees. Your classroom is on-line so you are not spending your paid lesson time time in a classroom. All your training time with our lessons is on the water training time. Best of all, you learn at your pace so no slowdowns in your training because of other students who are not where you are at.
The focus is on you and the areas you need to learn in greater depth and that are aligned to your boating goal. We start where you are and take you where you want to go in less time and in the end, less money.

Lessons & Certifications
8-Hour (2-days) Private Intensive Skill Building or Competent Crew
This 1-day course is a great choice for either:
- Skill building intensive based on the area where you need to improve skills
- Competent Crew skill building course so you can be an onboard asset
In the intensive lessons, the focus is on your area of interest and where you need the most coaching to grow your competency. For beginners, the focus is on the experience and foundational skills necessary for you to evaluate the sport.
The real advantage to private lessons is that you move at your own pace and the entire experience in customized so your goals are met in the timeframe.
COST FOR 1 STUDENT: $1650. COST FOR ADDITIONAL STUDENT: $250
24 Hour (4-day) Introductory Thru Intermediate Private Lessons
Our 24-hour course is perfect for beginners and those wanting to focus on advancing their existing slkill set. Whether you’re new to sailing or looking to focus on honing specific skills, from sail handling to close quarter manuevering under power, this is for you. Private lessons allow you the flexibilty to schedule them on your time, schedule and boating goals.
If you’re just beginning, this foundational course gives you a comprehensive understanding about the fundamentals of sailing skills so you can be a competent crew member and handle small crafts solo. Training is adapted to your learning style so you can fast track to greater skill sets faster and be boating on your own in no time.
If you have been sailing but need to improve skills or refresh skills, we customize the curriculum to take you where you want to go. The custom focus of the lessons creates a rich learning environment and increased retention.

SLC – International Sailing License On-The-Water Practical
To charter a yacht in the Mediterranean, Seychelles you are required to have an international sailing license. More and more countries are requiring interantional licenses including the Caribbean. The licenses vary based on which country you want to charter in, but the most widely accepted and convenient credential to obtain for European sailing is the International Sailing License and Credentials (SLC).
We issue the SLC ithrough NauticEd and it is valid for all yacht charter companies worldwide including Europe and the Seychelles. As a NauticEd school, we help you obtain this valuable credential.
The NauticEd SLC is relatively easy to gain and cost effective as long as you are experienced. You will need to obtain the California Boater’s Card to complete your application for the SLC.
To gain an SLC, you need to pass the NauticEd online theory courses for bareboat chartering and demonstrate sailing skills according to established standards.
