Private Sailing Lessons & Skill Building Coaching

Close The Competency Gap Group Lessons Leave Behind

You’ve taken lessons. You understand the basics but certain moments still feel like a gamble: docking in wind, navigating busy water, reefing smoothly, sailing short-handed, making decisions under pressure.

It’s not your fault. That’s the gap group lessons can’t fill because they don’t give you enough reps, feedback, or helm time. It’s a flaw in the “group lesson” business model. You cannot master complex skills when you’re sharing the wheel with three other students and following a rigid, generic curriculum.

At Passage Nautical, we assess where you’re at and understand where you want to be and create a package of one-on-one coaching to take you there.  It’s the only way to close the gap between what you learned in a group and where you actually want to be.

The Private Lesson Advantage

We don’t sell “courses” with fixed agendas. We sell results.

  • 100% Helm Time: You are driving the boat every minute. No watching from the cockpit while someone else learns.
  • Targeted Training: We skip what you know and drill what you don’t.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Buy a block of hours (just like our powerboat program) and schedule them when you’re free.
  • No Hidden Fees: No monthly club dues. Just expert instruction that gets you competent and confident, faster than any other school.

CHOOSE YOUR GOAL

1. The “Group Lesson” Graduate (Confidence Building):  You’ve taken group lessons, got a certificate. You know the theory, but you didn’t get enough repetition on the water.

The Fix: We identify your specific weak points and focus on them until they become muscle memory.

2. The SLC & Mediterranean Charter Aspirant:  You’re planning a vacation in the Mediterranean or Caribbean. To charter there, you need the SLC (International Sailing License) or refresh your skills for a Bareboat Charter Certification.

The Fix: We prep you for the SLC assessment or Bareboat Charter Certificate so you pass your assessment.

3. The Solo Sailor: You want the ultimate freedom: the ability to take a boat out without relying on finding a crew.

The Fix: We teach you the mechanics of solo sailing – how to set lines, hoist sails, reef, and return to the slip entirely on your own.

4. The “Intro to Sailing” (Try Before You Commit):  You’re curious about sailing and want to see if you actually like it first.

The Fix: A low-pressure, high-fun introduction. You get behind the wheel immediately to see if sailing is right for you.
