Meditation + Sailing Day Retreats

The quality of our daily lives is very much dependent upon the choices we make, but in a world where days are filled with constant demands, stressors, and interruptions how does a mind full of constant chatter and a nervous system rooted in survival get to a place of calm and rest?

If you Googled this question, you’d get meditation as the first option and learning about mindfulness as a close second. Meditation has been a practice used for thousands of years to bring about more clarity, self awareness and peace. From Aristotle to Michael Jordan, meditation has played a significant role in the quality of life and mindful approach to living.

When we slow our minds down, we see what brings meaning and importance to the moments of our lives and how to sift through the constant debris of the outside world. We start making better choices and having more freedom and peacefulness in our lives.

If you are saying you don’t or can’t meditate, you have and you can! Resting in the delight of a sunset or skiing effortlessly and joyfully down the slopes, getting lost in the beauty of nature, and any flow state are all states of meditation. It’s a natural state for the body and one much needed to restore ourselves from the stresses of life.

Our Mediation and Sailing retreat days are designed to introduce you to or strengthen your daily practices of mindful living and meditation. There are many doorways into meditation and some can be as simple as following your thoughts and feelings into a flow state. We teach different traditions and methods so you can enjoy the proven and vast benefits of meditation for mind-body healing.

Why sailing and meditation? Sailing has the ability to change our physiology as well as our psychology almost immediately because of its proximity to water, where you experience what has been coined the “blue mind” effect. It puts you in the present moment so that you experience a natural state of mindfulness and can embody this to take into your daily life. 

Our scheduled events are on Saturdays. We offer private, weekday day retreats for private group or corporate team events.
